Manitoulin Island - Day 3

This morning we decided to explore Gore Bay's town...and the farmer's market! The market yielded some amazing finds, beautiful wood sculptures, pottery, jams, custom cutting boards and other fresh produce. Afterwards we toured some of the other local shops. A local antique shop spilled out onto the road. Nostalgia took over, making for fantastic photo journalling.

We planned to visit the town for the rest of the day touring lovely local parks, shops and the museum. We enjoyed the many amazing artifacts in the museum revealing the rich history of Gore Bay, then went on to explore town shops, bought our fun tourist t-shirts, went to the marina shop and ran out of places to visit.

After a little research we decided to visit some more towns on the island. We found the fabulous Mum's Restaurant & Bakery where we had lunch and pastries, and Maja Organic Foods for specialty afternoon tea. We went on to Kagawong where we sampled tasty chocolates at Manitoulin Chocolate Works, buying some amazing paper and art supplies at ArtCandy before heading back to Gore Bay. What a wonderful day!
